Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween everyone! I had a nice day off today. Went to Jake's school and JT's school. They had a nice parade, cookie making station, card making station, craft area too. JT's class made some "witche's brew" and had it for pm recess. We had a blast!!!! And the boys chose spiderman outfits.

We had a yummy dinner tonight and a "spooky brownie dessert".

Then at 630pm the boys went trick or treatin around the neighborhood. We are handing out juice boxes again this year. Why not give those trick or treaters a "chaser" of MORE SUGAR after eating those candies right?

The boys enjoyed trick or treating tonight on our street and went to our friends neighborhood. I'm so glad they only went on our street we did not have to too much candy.

We really love halloween. And tomorrow, I will start my Thanksgiving decorations going.

A must see?

A movie is set to be released in early 2008 called "Wanted". It kind of reminds me of Matrix. I don't know, I have to check more previews. I like Morgan Freeman and Angelina Jolie. Except for the eye make up

What went wrong?

It's the Biggest Shock in Dancing with the Stars history. Cheetah Girl - Sabrina got the boot last night. Check here.

Office Spin Off?

NBC is planning a Major Office expansion. According to TV Guide:

If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, NBC may be about to pay a major compliment to Grey's Anatomy. Multiple sources confirm to me exclusively that the Peacock is developing an episode of The Office that would introduce several new characters who would then be spun off into a new series à la Private Practice.

Remembering Grandma Crane

Grandma Crane's funeral service was so beautiful. I learned a lot of things about her. Here are some of the things I can remember from her Daughters,Sons,DIL and SIL's speeches.
  • She had a cut on her forehead when she was born
  • She was 12 years old when she lost her mother and she had to take care of her siblings
  • She served 2 missions for the church, once when she was 21 and the 2nd with her lifelong companion Grandpa Crane
  • Her heart still skips a beat when she hears the screen door open and now Grandpa's heart skipped a beat when she joined him
  • When Uncle Laurence and Uncle Mckay were little and they fought over a toy Grandma Crane took the toy away from them and put it in the stove and said that's not how you share toys.
Elder L. Tom Perry was there too and he gave a wonderful message about: A legacy, how we should continue her legacy and not stop ......

Utah and Idaho Trip

We left LAX yesterday and arrived in Utah last night. The boys were so good at the airport. They were very patient waiting to board the plane.
When we got to SLC airport, we were waiting for the rental car and the boys were very much entertained by the Cal Poly Rugby Players as they wait for their car/van too.

The next day the boys,Paul and I woke up early and played:
Air Hockey

Basketball

Foosball

Table Tennis

Then we met Aunt Becky and had lunch at one of our favorite places to eat in Utah. Cafe Rio. They have the yummiest tostada and salad. Ended it with Tres Leches even better. Calories? What Calories? I'm on vacation!! Of course I did not finish lunch and saved it when we come back.

After lunch we drove up to Idaho.

and we saw The historic Logan Tabernacle

Trees and mountains

Bear Lake

Beautiful Fall Colors

We arrived at the Church for Grandma Crane's Viewing and we saw TONS of Paul's cousins, Aunts and Uncles, nieces and nephews. I will post more pics later.

Mid week

We woke up again with smoky air. This is a picture of sunrise from our house.
It's been pretty low census at work and all the therapists have been taking our time which means we're more relaxed and have time to spend chatting.

Anyways, it was so HOT today going to my car, I can't believe it's FALL and this is what it said in my car when I got in. After work I went to Jake's school to give a talk for Career Week. I was 5 minutes late and when I arrived at his pre school I saw the whole pre-school kids waiting patiently for me. It was sooo much fun. I talked about what I do and where I work. I showed pictures of Crutches, Walkers, Wheelchairs. It was a 15 minute talk and at the end I asked them if they have any questions. Here are their questions.
  1. How do you work in a Hospital?
  2. Where do you work?
  3. Do you like to work?
And the other kids were telling cute and funny stories. So fun, I had a great time and Jake was so happy to see Mommy too. Then I got home and started cleaning up and packing. We invited the mish over for dinner. JT decided where we will take them for dinner. We took them to lazy Dog Cafe.

JT and Jake were such good boys, drawing and coloring pictures. JT even wrote a letter to Sadie.

Last night I talked to Suzi and she mentioned about the Tradition Halloween Phantom Ghost, I told her we're ready for that. BUT we never talked about the time so when we got back home from dinner we saw Suzi and her boys walking toward our house. When they noticed we were coming and parking in our driveway they hurriedly ran back to their car. The boys got so excited as they might have noticed Rohan and Tini so they climbed out of the truck and started running to their car, I had to do something or say something so I told them loud enough it was not Rohan and Tini . I did that as a que for them. I told the boys to go back inside the house. They were pretty much bummed walking back in our house.

After a few minutes we heard some pitter patter, and the doorbell rang. The boys huriedly ran to the door with their flashlights. When we opened the door we saw some fresh bakes chocolate cookies and a poem. JT read the poem and he said "Mommy we've been phantomized". Suzi called about 15 minutes later and JT and Jake asked if she was visiting us and if she was the "phantom" totally played dead. It was sooo fun. So watch out for the phantom ghost coming your way.

here's the poem:
Happy Halloween!

'Tis ole' Halloween
And the time is now here,
For Ghosts to gather
And you need have no fear.

This phantom ghost
Means you no harm,
He's just bringing goodies
Fresh baked and warm.

So now it's your turn
To do more of the same.
Just pick two families
And have fun with this game.

Make two copies of this poem
And two ghosts too...
You have to 24 hours to deliver this "BOO"!

Deliver some goodies
To a house with no ghost.
Ring the doorbell and run,
Do not be seen and remember,
Have fun!!

(Don't forget to hang your paper ghost on a door or window so others will know you've already been visited)

We surely enjoyed those Yummy Chocolate Chip Cookies

Short day

We have a very low census at work today so I got off early and went shopping after work. I decided to shop at Century City for my nieces baby shower at one of my favorite Children's stores ---> Naartjie. Of course I also ended up buying clothes for the boys. I love..love...love Naartjie store. Im so glad to have gone there today. I was planning to go shop in Utah, because of the busy schedule, I decided to shop sometime this week. Because of the short work day, today was the perfect time. Last time I was there was in July with my girlfriends and we all got crazy buying stuff for our kids. Then I went to Zara for some Mommy shopping.

Then we went to meet up with Jeff, Nana and their girls for dinner at Rubios . It was sooo good of course. JT and Jake were so excited of course when we got there they were both so shy to even talk to the girls. After a few minutes of "warming up" they had a great time as always and the girls were sooo adorable and cute as ever. They are moving next week and we will surely miss them.

It's Official

From the Mountain West Conference office:

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The BYU at San Diego State football game, scheduled for 6:30 p.m. PT, this Saturday, October 27, at Qualcomm Stadium, has been postponed until Saturday, December 1, 2007. Kickoff time and telecast details will be announced at a later date.

Confused

Is it Summer, Fall or Winter? That is the question. It's October and it's 88 deg. in CA and it was snowing in UT last weekend. Fire threat in CA and snow in UT, totally confusing.

Anyways, we woke up today and saw some ashes on our backyard, car and patio. We live 2 hours form San Diego and Northridge but we still got some ashes and bad smoke. I'm suprised Jake never had an asthma attack yet, with all the itchy eyes, throat and sneezing.

Girls Night Out

We had a girls night out tonight. Shauna,Suzi,Natalie and Nana took me out to dinner for my birthday. We went to one of our favorite hang outs at El Paso Cantina. Yum..Yum.. We had a blast. So after dinner the waitress asked if we wanted dessert. We were all STUFFED!! Until Suzi and Natalie said .."OHHH it's her Birthday---> pointing at me" I totally forgot how the waiters sing for your birthday. Yes that's what they did. They sang Happy Birthday IN SPANISH!!! It was sooo nice. After dinner we hung out at Shauna's and we just talked, and laughed and talked more and laughed and more talking. We always end the night with a full stomach from eating yummy food and from laughing a lot. And I totally forgot to take pictures tonight . Bummer!!

Tragedy

My Mom called early this morning and told me about the Mall Blast at the Glorietta Mall in the Philippines. It happened around 1:30 pm in Philippines (10:30PM-PST). My sister was planning to go to this mall to shop and my Dad asked her to buy something too. It took her awhile as she was surfing the net what to buy. Luckily she stayed there for awhile and missed the blast.

Hot Date

We called Frau Ingga for our date night tonight. She was so sweet she gave me a Pumpkin candle for my birthday. Ummm. I LOVE candles. Thanks to Frau Ingga for watching the kids and for the candle.
Paul and I went out tonight and went to BlueWater Grill. We had a great time as usual and talked about anything and everything.

They say when we couples go out on a date, they should focus on each other and talk about other things and not just about the kids. But it is just so hard not to mention or talk about the kids. Is it just us or what?

Anyways, I had a scrumptious Seared Ahi Tuna and Paul had a nice and tasty mesquite Grilled Halibut. We ended our yummy dinner with a yummy dessert. It was a debate between Pinkberry or lava cake. We did not want to drive all the way up the hill so ended up having a Chocolate Lava Cake. It was good. We ranked this version as number 3 on our list.

1. Arnie Morton's Lava Cake
2.Grand Luxe Cafe's Lava Cake

Here's my yummy seared ahi tuna

Paul can't wait to dig in to that yummy Chocolate Lava cake

Good Job

I was fixing breakfast today and I heard Jake say B, and then Y, and then U. I went to see what he was doing and he was tracing the letters on our "BYU" pillow. We, especially Paul, were so proud.
