Labor Day Weekend

Happiest Race on Earth

Last year we ran the Disneyland Family fun run and since then we decided to have
This is as one of our family traditions to end our Summer and enjoy the long weekend at Disneyland.
We enjoyed the Disneyland Family fun run on Saturday.
I ran the 5 K, JT ran 200 m, and Jake ran 100m.
Family Goal for next yr:
Run/walk 5K. Jake will be ready at that time he
will be almost 5 y/o.
Here are some of the highlights.

JT and Jake's Race

Paul's race ...

to make it in time for the Football Kick off.

ADVENTURE CITY

We went to Adventure City and the boys enjoyed the rides. The rides are good for small kids, that does not need Parents. Except for the hot air balloon, which I do not enjoy. Thanks to my dear
husband for always taking the boys. Yeah, I told Amber I could not even ride Dumbo at D-Land.
Actually rides that goes in CIRCLES, make me dizzy.
Paul was also complimented with his Shirt. Thanks for buying the shirt Jake at
Comic Con.

Cheesecake factory

JT and Jake loves MAPS, and they especially loved the map at Disneyland Park. We ate dinner at Cheesecake factory and the boys "carbo loaded" on yummy pasta. JT and Jake's classic poses. And before bedtime, Jake and his best friend (his breathing tx.)

O-let down

We all had the O-fever. And now we have the O-let down. At work today we talked about the Olympics and the Volleyball finals. It was very Sweet ending. It really is from Tragedy to triumph. Now we can have our nights back and enjoy happy hour as what they said.

Cindy one of the Speech Therapist planned a "Thank you" party for our Manager Denise. After work tonight we went to Sangria in Hermosa Beach for happy hour and enjoyed yummy Tapas, they enjoyed Sangria, margarita and I enjoyed my Diet Coke!. And the Flamenco. We left early and Denise decided to dance with the ladies. And yes we missed it. Good thing Erika has a video of it and we cannot wait to see it. They said she could have a less stressful job and be a flamenco dancer instead of Managing the whole Rehab Dept.

O-fever

There are so many titles for this post. Sleepless Nights, Total Crash, Pumped up. I am sure all of you had this O-fever for 17 days. I got acquainted very well with
Michael Phelps, Aaron Peirsol, Dara Torres, Natalie Coughlin,
Usain Bolt, Allyson Felix, Logan Tom, Ryan Millar, Carli Lloyd, Shalane Flanagan, Emma Snowsill, Nastia Liukin, Steven Lopez, Lebron James, Kobe Bryant, Lisa Leslie
Gees, And many, many more awesome Elite Athletes.

Last night, Paul and I stayed up late and watched the USA-Spain Men's Basketball Gold Medal final. The game ended at 1:30 am and as I said, last night will be the last night I will stay up late.

The joy of winning and the agony of defeat.
For all the athletes, coaches, spectators. What an awesome job.

When I read the closing ceremony in Beijing this early morning (thanks to NBC for always
being delayed in telecasting) I cannot wait for 2012 London Olympics.

I love the U.S.A'S opening and closing ceremony uniforms.

Highlights

Here are some of the highlights you missed while I was
busy watching the Olympics - Sorry Lolo, Lola, Gma and Gpa.

Jake's Ski Hat

I have a hat, I have a hat! said Jake while Paul and I were
getting ready to put the boys to bed.
I really don't know where he got this idea from.

Float or Sink?
This summer, I read a lot of books at Jake's school. Then last week they started their official back to school program. Last week, they learned about floating and sinking for their science class. J.T helped me with the activity. I brought a basin filled up with water and brought 13 items such as: rock, pin, stick, leaf, shark toy, coin, paper, rubber band etc..etc.. and asked the kids to pick one each then J.T explained what they were going to do. They had to cross out if they think the item they picked will sink or float. We did this act. 2x and they all had fun. Next week, will be either Math or Spanish Subjects. I have to think of a relay game or something.

Fascinated

While the boys were getting in the car before school, they called my name and were so
fascinated at this creature laying on our driveway. EWWW!!!
I told the boys to get in the car and I called Paul at work to call Animal Control.
I asked him if he felt any bump when he left for work, Paul said he did not feel any bump nor did he notice a Possum. I told him there was a dead possum on
our driveway then he asked me.
Is he really Dead or playing Possum?

Fun in the Sun!

The boys enjoyed a fun splash day Church Activity. They played obstacle courses, squirt guns, water balloons and relays. Then we enjoyed Burgers and Hotdogs, watermelon and desserts. Jinky and I met for dinner at a yummy sushi restaurant in Long Beach, called I love Sushi and went to yogurtland for dessert. We planned on going to Beso Restaurant, however, Soon to be Mom Sharon was very busy nesting.

Camping!

I am really not a camper and it has been a long time since we went camping. So last Sat. The boys wanted to go camping and they decided to camp out...in our backyard! Whew!
Paul was so nice to put a walking path for me and the boys. I do not want dirty feet and "dirt" in my bed. The Mish came by and said Hello and ate smores with the boys and shared their ghost stories. Then they shared a nice scripture story. The boys even invited them to go camping and we told them they cannot go camping with us they have to visit other people and it was getting late and they need to go to sleep and wake up early the next day.

Now that the Olympics are over, Paul just can't stop saying
"Are you ready for some football?????"

Run

Have you been running lately? According to researchers from Stanford University, Running reduced the risk not only of heart disease, but of cancer and neurological diseases such as Alzheimer's.

The team surveyed 284 members of a nationwide running club and 156 similar, healthy people as controls. They all came from the university's faculty and staff and had similar social and economic backgrounds, and all were 50 or older. Most of the volunteers did some exercise, but runners exercised as much as 200 minutes a week, compared to 20 minutes for the non-runners.

It doesn't have to be running. Any cardio exercise for 30 minutes that gets your heart rate up, and strengthens your muscles, will support your immune system and make you healthier overall.

So lace up your running shoes and start MOVING!

Tired

Is it just me, who else is very tired? Well, blame it on the Olympics. I have been up late for the past 3 days since the Opening Ceremony. The boys enjoyed the Basketball game and Swimming. And I enjoy every single event. Haahaa. Yes even Boxing! Can't wait for Track and Field and Taekwondo.

Anyways, last week the boys pretended they were spiderman and enjoyed climbing up the door; they had a fun playdate with Trevor, went to the park, had ice cream and played basketball.

Kim set your TiVo,there will be a Soccer Match at 445am - Tuesday
USA-New Zealand on MSNBC

Ok, gotta go and see the next Olympic events!

Better late than never

Do you know the muffin man? That is what the boys always tell me, whenever I make muffins or bake cupcakes using those muffin tin. As I was uploading pictures from flickr, I saw these cool Muffin tin meals. I google Muffun tin meal and saw this blog from Sycamore stirrings.
What a brilliant idea. So 2 weeks ago we decided to start this new
Muffin Tin Meal. As you can see, I need to put more colors in their muffin tin meals.
They ate pretty good. They had rice, breaded chicken, grapes, green peas and pasta

We took a break from our favorite Fro yos and
We all screamed for Ice Cream for the month of July .
From Coldstone to baskin robbins with my friend Luisa
to klondike bars. Dreyers had this promo of buy one take one.
And their favorites?
Jake loves Take the Cake ( they love, love Cake batter, esp. from Carvel)
and J.T loves Mint Choco chip and Cookie Dough.
My favorite
Ben and Jerry's Peach Cobbler!
OMG!!!
It's like Peach cobbler + Ice Cream
