Merge

We had a STAT Meeting in our Stake tonight and our Ward was DISSOLVED!!! It is sooo SAD!!! I am sooo depressed right now. Jeff told us the news. Now Paul is talking to Suzi and my cell phone is ringing it's Natalie. I don't understand why. It's like being in Survivor where 2 tribes MERGE. We are going to surely miss some of our friends and most of all our old Ward. Luckily a lot of our close friends are still going to be in the same ward as ours. I just talked to Shauna and she said "On the bright side we get to meet a lot of new families, friends and it will be also fun for the boys." that is soooo true. We'll keep you posted for more updates.

What a day

We had a nice Soccer game this morning and we saw our old friends from the Bradley Birthing class in 2001. After 6 yrs. Our boys are playing soccer. It was sooo cool to see them. Jake was very good today he watched the game on my lap and he just took as many pictures as he want. After the game we just relaxed at home, Jake sounded a little bit wheezy today. Paul watched USC and BYU games, the boys played and I just cleaned and cleaned the house. I also got to organize my purses. I was sooo happy and excited to see my clutch with all my gift cards. It's like early Christmas Shopping!!!!!

Welcome to the real World Mom

I picked up JT and I always make a quick Ocular Inspection (like at work) at their arms and legs and I saw this owie on his L elbow.I just wanted to know what happened. I did not bombard him with a bunch of questions. He said after he hung his lunch bag he slipped and tripped - OUCH. And yes the boys are getting bigger and they will have bruises and scrapes here and there. As a MOM you want to know what happened.

Anyway, Friday at school is Share day and today is Letter "M". JT brought this "Mask" from Grandma and Grandpa. And he loved it and other kids loved it too.

It's Friday

Friday is Pizza and Movie Night at our household. The boys also get to pick 1 tv show each after school. JT picked Scooby Doo and Jacob picked Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. When we started watching, it was in Spanish

And this was Jacob's face after he saw and heard the theme en espanol.

The boys wanted Macaroni Grill so we had a nice dinner there tonight.

After dinner we had a family movie at home and watched Toy Story.

Child Bearing Hips

Photo:yahoo

Bless this woman's heart. A Siberian woman who gave birth to a baby girl (left) - Nadia via C-section (of course) to her 12th child and she weighed 7.75 kg (17.1 lb).

"We were all simply in shock," said Nadia's mother, Tatyana Barabanova, 43. "What did the father say? He couldn't say a thing - he just stood there blinking." I ate everything, we don't have the money for special foods so I just ate potatoes, noodles and tomatoes," she told the reporter, adding that all her previous babies had weighed more than 5 kg.

Season Prem

I have been staying up late watching all these crazy season premier tv shows since Monday ( as if I never stayed up late before) So tonight is Bionic Woman and Private Practice. Thanks to DVR and yes I remember when I was a kid we watched the TV series of Bionic Woman, how long ago was that? And tomorrow is The Office. Paul and I can't wait! It's an hour long. My brother in Manila called me and asked if we saw it already, told him not until Thurs. We are so excited.

Manolo Angel

A Bobbi Brown makeup artist at Saks Fifth Avenue in Southampton, was on her break and looking at a pair of Manolo Blahniks when Renee Zellweger strolled up and the two began talking about shoes. The girl was fawning over a pair of shoes and Renee bought them for her. I wonder when she will be shopping here in LA.

Busy Day

I always tell the boys that we have to leave the house by 7:15 am so Mommy will not be late. Well, today there was a HORRENDOUS traffic jam on the way to work. There were kids going to school, people going to work and taking the 405 and 91 freeways, and on top of it all one of the electric poles fell .

So ok I was listening on the radio just like most people do, and I heard this news from Seat Pleasant, MD. "A 23-year-old woman and her baby nephew are recovering from being hit by a vehicle on Friday." "A Chevy Tahoe was turning left from Eastern onto Martin Luther King Jr. Highway when it struck Bennet on the passenger side. The baby's stroller got stuck underneath the driver's side." Oh my gosh. How scary is that and this is the stroller the baby was in. Check the news here.
Thankfully the baby is doing just fine.

Family Night

This is what jacob's homework looked like today when he came home from school. Yes he's only 3 y.o and this is his homework. Since we do not speak Spanish and I know some of it finishing this one was tough. So I asked Paul if he knows some of the colors in Spanish. Like Anaranjado. Rosado, and Morado. So of course Paul just stared at me. I had a big sigh and told him that I will just look it up online. BUT I decided to just ask JT. And yes, he gave us the right answers to all the colors. FANTASTIC!!!

After all the homework was done we had a Family Night. The boys always love Family night. We had fun playing, singing and also we had fun playing games and everyone's fave the treat. We went to Pinkberry up in Palos Verdes. It's been awhile since we had pinkberry. Last time we had it was in May when my sister, nephew and brother were visiting from the Philippines. And the boys had Baskin Robbins ice cream.

By the time we got home the boys fell asleep in the car and now Paul and I are just watching Season Premier shows on TV.

Back to School Bug

It was all set and planned for weeks. Paul and I were off yesterday and planned on going to watch a movie and have a nice date, before going to the boys school. Unfortunately the boys were sick so they joined us at home yesterday. Yes, we got the "back to school bug." It's really NO fun to have sick kids. So I refilled all my hand sanitizer for quick hand washing.
I've also printed Hand washing and nasty germ pictures .

Test your Fast Food IQ here.

Back to School Night

Paul and I went to JT's Back to school Night last night. It was very fun. Since I never went to school here I was very curious about "Back to School Night" and not only that as a Mom I am also excited to meet JT's teacher , his classroom, other parents etc...etc..JT's teacher is really nice and sweet. We met some of the parents and saw some of our friends at school. The teacher talked about the schedule, rules inside the class, what to expect this year, field trip and other fun stuff. She also talked about packing HEALTHY snacks for the kids. "We cannot have cupcakes or cookies for Birthdays anymore." It is totally changed. I told Paul that in the Philippines we bring happy meal for the whole class and ice cream and cake. So what the teacher said If we wish to send a treat for the kids, the food and beverage standard has to meet the SB12. Examples are Granola Bars, Fruits, Fat free muffins. I will let you know what I will bring for JT's Birthday.

Nasty Scratch

I was in a hurry to pick up Jacob from school today because he was running a temp. I was driving out of the parking lot from work when an elderly lady drove in, so I had to swerve to the right to avoid her. Because I didn't have enough space to fully turn the truck I underestimated the left fender and scratched the post where I swipe my badge. It was really, really bad.

Fun Basket

I put out my Halloween and fall decorations about 2 weeks ago. I just LOVE..LOVE..LOVE fall season. Anyways, I have my pumpkin candle and candy corn candle which I got from Kohls last week. And yes love the smell.
Paul told me not to burn that specific candle because it really does smell like CANDY inside the house and it tempts him to eat candy. Any who, when Jacob and I got home we got a package form Grandpa and Grandma from Utah, we got nice kitchen towels, a thank you card, a "Don't FROG-get We love you "card for the boys, and a pair of hanging ghosts. Jacob surely loved those.

Hawaiian Delight

So I got an email from my dad reminding me to update my blog. I have been so busy since school started and also TV shows started. Today was a little crazy at work, we had our usual Rehab Meeting before seeing patients. We had 17 PT Evals today. 17!! at 830 am. Of course PT referrals keep coming in til 3:00 pm. It was crazy. Ever since MLK ( Martin Luther King Hospital) closed we have been busier. NOT COMPLAINING!! Anyways, then we had the Mish for dinner tonight. We had Hawaiian Delight. Shrimp and Pineapple Fried Rice, Teriyaki Salmon with Mango Salsa ..YUM-OH! The boys helped me set the table and make the yummy Vanilla cake with whipped topping . UMMMMM...Here's the recipe from Meiling Dawson

Pineapple and Shrimp Fried rice

Shrimp:
1/2 lb shelled shrimp
1 tsp sesame oil
1/2 tsp salt
1 Tbsp cornstarch
Oil for cooking
Marinate shrimp in the sesame oil, salt, cornstarch for a t least 10 mins. Cook shrimp in hot oil until no longer pink.
Rice:
3 tbsp oil
1 small yellow onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced - we had the costco ones..SO AWESOME
4 cups cold cooked white rice
4 eggs,scrambled
2 cups chopped fresh pineapple
2 green onions,chopped
1/2 c cashews
3tbsp fish sauce - you can get this in any Asian markets..Paul doesn't not like this sauce

2 tbsp soy sauce

heat oil. Cook the yellow onion and garlic for about 2 mins. Add the rice and heat through; add scrambled eggs, pineapple, green onion and cashews. Season rice with fish sauce, sugar, black pepper and soy sauce. Mix well and serve warm.

Mango Salsa
2 cups diced peeled ripe mango (about 2 mangoes)
2 cups diced fresh pineapple
1 cup chopped English cucumber
1/2 red onion
2 tbsp season rice vinegar
1 tsp hot sauce
1/2 tsp salt

Combine mango and the remaining ingredients

Salmon
Marinate salmon for 1-2 hrs in teriyaki sauce. Heat grill to medium high and coat with non stick cooking spray. Lay salmon on barbecue. Close and cook for 4 - 5mins until sear marks are visible. Rotate 45 deg. and repeat. Flip salmon when criss cross pattern is visible. Cook until firm and done.

Then the boys and I helped me bake the cake and set the table. It surely was a fun night. I have to go now. Season Premier for some of my fave shows is starting tonight.

Monday Madness

That's what the boys cheered for after our Family Home Evening. It's Monday Madness at Coldstones. Kids eat free with a "love it" purchase. So we played soccer and some family games like thimble game. The boys really love FHE night. Jacob is sooo cute his new expression is "Mommy I was a good boy today I made a right choice" Or if I tell jacob NO to watching TV he said " Mommy you are making a bad choice"

Belated Birthday

The boys and I went to toys R Us tonight with Tito John. We have not seen him for almost 3 weeks. He's been very busy at work. Tita Denise had to work today so we did not see her. Anyways, Tito John treated the boys for a shopping spree at Toys R Us for Jacob's birthday.

The boys surely had a great time. Jacob got Fishing around game and cars, and JT got a book, flashcards and small animal toys. Tito John did not stay for dinner he met Tita Denise for dinner after work.

Then I get to watch the Emmys after we put the boys to to bed. My brother John C was excited for The Sopranos big win. And I enjoyed watching the red carpet. The gowns I really loved were: Photo:E!

Check what you throw away

As Suzi was telling me she might have accidentally put her True Religion Jeans in a bag to donate to charity last week. I was just wondering how could she donate her jeans JUST LIKE THAT!!! She was actually cleaning her closet to get rid or donate some of her clothes to charity when her friend called, and yes she got distracted, so she just started piling, stacking old clothes and PRICEY JEANS in the bag. Luckily..Luckily she did not donate the bag the next day. WHEW!!

Hi-Tech

When the boys and I got home. Paul told me about SLING BOX. Have you heard about this? Well Sling Box lets you watch tv on your computer from a remote location. Paul hopes this will help him watch more football games this year, as if he doesn't see enough already. We hooked it up today and it works pretty well and the picture is not bad.

V.Wang

JT and I went to Kohl's today after I picked him up from school. Yes...Yes... at Kohl's to shop for Simply Vera. I bought 2 tops and it was on SALE!! yes take extra 30 % off, how sweet is that! The Dress that I wanted was already sold out.(Left Dress) One of the ladies that work there said that the Blue Dress (Right Dress) was sold out in 4 days since they launched the line
