Orla Kiely

In February, we will have our hands on some of her cool color, graphic patterns for Target. Orla Kiely for Target: with rich cocoa brown with accents of aqua, acorn, reddish orange, olive. You'll love it, too!

Orla is appointed as a consultant to the Marks and Spencer design team. A position she resigned in 1997 to allow the launch of her first diffusion range for Debenhams. The first Orla Kiely diffusion range Orla Kiely for Debenhams is introduced. This range was to expand into one of their most successful ranges. Soon Orla's work was appearing as part of Paris Fashion Week, and was beginning to cross continents with customers in Paris, Japan, New York, Hong Kong and Dublin.

Initially commissioned by Harrods to produce a range of hats after an impressive finale spot on the graduation catwalk, Orla swiftly went on to develop a range of soft accessories. Within a very short time Orla had expanded her range to include bags, and was supplying a number of influential London stores. Barely a year later The Orla Kiely partnership was formed, and the designer was making her first ever appearance as part of London Fashion Week. At this time the partnership received its first order from Japan.
